Contemplatable cadavers, hooray for heroes and British trolling at its best.
Trump 2.0 keeps producing the sh*t and I am ready and waiting with my British shovel. Join me for the next round of Felon lunacy. Virtual support tea provided.
Welcome to the Sick Of this Sh*t (SOS) Newsletter. A middle aged, British wife and mother’s roundup of the lunacy of the Felon, what we can do about it and how we are all going to survive it.
Buckle up tea drinkers, kettle on – MAGA goes travelling this week…
Oh, the batshittery continues apace. This week, travel has been on the minds of the Trumpian acolytes and Greenland was the first to ‘benefit’ from these roving, repulsive Republicans. J D Vance and his ‘beautiful’ wife (she must be beautiful, the Felon said so), visited Greenland this week. Greenland is reviewing its border policy as I write.
‘It’s cold as shit here’, announced the silver-tongued, Vance (obviously having not read his copy of ‘How to win friends and influence people’ on the long flight over). Who says that? As an (unwanted) guest in a foreign land, is that the best way he could think to describe his host nation? So crass, so classless, so Vance.
Cue Lars Lokke Rasmussen, Denmark’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, to show Vance how to behave (although kindergarten kids could offer Vance sage words of advice, the bar is that low). ‘We are open to criticism…(but)…. we do not appreciate the tone in which it has been delivered’ said a calm and considered Rasmussen. Not particularly referring to the ‘cold as shit’ comment but more the whole ‘move out the way you big oafish Danes, us MAGA maniacs are coming for Greenland’ vibe. Long may MAGA never succeed and Greenland stay a gorgeous green not turn a repugnant red.
Stephen Miller also did some travelling this week. Time travelling from 1930’s Germany. Or was he travelling back from the land of the dead to haunt us with his vile rhetoric and divisive evil? Stephen Miller. Good God. The walking cadaver. Have Republicans taken to grave robbing to find their people? Look closely at his feet and you can still see the tag on his big toe from where they buried him the first time.
I refuse to print a word he wrote on ‘X’ last week, his words are not worthy of my finger tapping and I have to bleach my eyes every time I catch a glimpse of his toxic rant. I will say though that my readers have had some excellent descriptions of him – the evil love child of Gollum and Nosferatu is a particular favourite. Let’s hope Stephen hops in his time machine and fucks off soon.
Elon ‘no-one voted for me’ Musk has also gone on a journey this week. An existential one. He made a huge leap from ‘empathy is bad’ when he didn’t need any to ‘please feel sowee for me’ when his Tesla baby (one of the ones he is still in contact with) hit the skids.
Pick a side Elon – empathetic, compassionate, honourable induvial or MAGA supporter – you can’t have it both ways. I suspect he bought a return ticket for this existential odyssey and will be back to his ‘normal’ vote-buying self before I finished typing this senten… yes, its official he is.
From those ‘zeroes’ to heroes. Mark ‘the man’ Carney. Need I say more? Oh, go on then, I will. Canadians must be so proud, so heartened and reassured that the quiet man, in the smart suit (who actually knows is way around grammar, amongst so many other things) has stood up to the Felon and become another man of the hour (Zelenskyy got there first but the more the merrier). He went ‘elbows up’ without breaking a sweat when he broke away from the tariff mad maniac Trump. Mr Carney, I salute you and Canada – I couldn’t be happier for you.
Another hero of the hour (well 25 of them to be precise) is Cory ‘the speech’ Booker. For 25 hours straight, record breaking Cory spoke truth to power during his very recent Senate speech earning himself a new record and the respect and adorations of millions (if not billions). A cup of warming ginger tea for Cory please, his sore throat deserves it.
Hear no evil, speak no evil, see no evil.
Writing about Trump is one thing, but have you ever heard me speak about him? I am not in Cory Booker’s league, but I had a few things to say to the wonderful
yesterday during our podcast on the subject of ‘Sick of this sh*t’ and surviving Trump 2.0. You may require subtitles to allow for my British accent or a dictionary of British idioms to fully understand my phrasing but do please check it out. It is due to ‘drop’ on Thursday (I think that’s how the young people say it!)Talking of ‘seeing’ no evil, have a look at this poster that has been appearing around my home city of London. It is one of many, posted by a group called ‘Everyone hates Elon’. I will be writing more about EHE next week but I hope this image helps to raise your spirits and shows that the Brits will not go down without a fight. We may be a nation of tea loving, queue abiding apologists but nobody trolls quite like the British.
So, how are you feeling?…..
Be honest, it doesn’t get much better does it? Every day, well every hour sometimes, a new and frightening lunacy is launched upon the world. It’s part of their strategy – overwhelm us by passing the baton of batshittery seamlessly from Hegseth to Vance to Miller to whoever is up for the next leg. Its exhausting and we need to take a break and look after ourselves. We are in it for the long haul. Our mere existence is resistance, so it is imperative that we keep on with our daily lives.
In the next part of the ‘Five ways to wellbeing’ I am going to introduce you to Noticing. Noticing is about staying in the moment and gaining awareness (without judgement) how you are feeling and what is happening around you. We spend so much time ruminating about the past and dreading the future but all we have is the today, the here and now.
What can you notice this today? Does switching on your phone make your stomach flip? Are you reaching for the wine, beer or biscuits every time the evening news comes on? No judgement. Just observation. Awareness is key. Are the flowers starting to bloom? Does the air feel more ‘spring’ like? Noticing helps us identify our triggers and helps us stay in the present and appreciate ourselves and the world around us. Give it a go. You could try:
Going for a walk and noticing the nature around you, is it changing? How does that feel for you?
Noticing how your body feels when you feel yourself getting stressed. do your shoulders tense? Does your breathing alter? Do your thoughts spiral? Remember no judgement. Awareness comes before change.
Notice your work environment? How does it make you feel? Is your chair comfortable? Is your desk messy? How does it feel when you change it?
Next week I will share another way to wellbeing, another way to taking back control.
Stay safe, stay sane tea drinkers - see you next week for more Sick of this Sh*t.

Sick of this Sh*t | Rebecca Mack | Substack
As ever Rebecca well said. I’m still basking in the little beam of light that shone through this morning from Wisconsin. Poor Musk rat. 20 million dollars on the campaign and several more to maga voters in his unconstitutional lottery and he lost. Rejoice in the everyday little victories. I’m told by an American friend that there is a nation wide protest on the 5 April by all the decent Americans who are “sick of this shit”
I love that you remind us that we are ALL in this together! Whether American, British, French, Greenlander, Danish, etc we must all fight this MAGA Mentality of cruelty, self-service, bigotry & hatred of ‘other’. Bless you & all here that follow you & share your feelings. I’m an American who is ashamed of what this crazy-ass administration is doing to the US and to the rest of the world.
