I am so gobsmacked, (see how us dumb Americans can learn?) that your newsletter takes up the cause of American democracy. Most Americans know how our democracy works, and despite literally millions of web pages devoted to our government, they can’t be bothered to find out the basics.

I love your analysis and take on the clown show that is distracting us away from the nefarious and terrifying 2025 plan that is rapidly being implemented by those Heritage Foundation bros.

Great use of the word ‘gobsmacked’ Nimmie, you will be speaking like a native Brit soon!

Regardless of geography we are all in this together…they come for one of us, then they come for all of us. I hope my writing gives you some comfort that you are not alone and that the world is watching.

Ooops! I should have said “most Americans DON’T know. “ I am most grateful for your kind words and support. This has been a very tough and disappointing time, especially here in Washington where so many people work for the Federal Government, in many different agencies. Both our boys are Federal employees and both work hard and my husband worked for years first as an Air Force officer and then later for the Foreign & Commercial Service. Hardly a slacker. Keep those newsletters coming and thank you.

The Signal thing was another WTF moment in a seemingly endless list. I keep hoping I’ll wake up and find it was all a nightmare.

I’m so pleased Judy. It’s so important to feel heard and not to feel alone in challenging times such as these. Welcome to my virtual kitchen table, tea, support and hopefully a few chuckles for all ☕️

My level of activity this week is mostly doing a middle finger dance, so arms only. My body is janked, my mind is cranked. Kettle’s on! ❤️

Oh Keelie… what a nightmare and how strong you have been (and are being) to ride out that shitshow. I fell over last year and broke my nose… falling is no joke, bloody painful and knocks your confidence… on top of everything else you have suffered that must have felt like the final straw.

I’ll definitely keep the tea and cake coming and I have another Substack publication called ‘This Woman’s Work’… there is a free subscription option, maybe you will find something there that resonates with you. Or why not post yourself? Sounds like you have so much to write about… there’s a book in there never mind a post!

Whatever you do, keep joining in at SOS. We have a free chat feature too so use that whenever you want. Cheers to you Keelie and keep on keeping on… one day all of this shit will be in the past… bring on that day!! ☕️🍰❤️

I am so bad with tech… they are not supposed to be paid 😣… I will get my teenager to look at it and sort it out. It’s supposed to be free and easy (unlike me 😝) ❤️

Ooh I would love to share a cup of tea ☕️ with you Keelie (if only virtual). My back is bad at the moment so all I can do is walk but when it gets better I think I will find myself a pair of boxing gloves and a punch bag… that should relieve some of the stress the Felon and his acolytes are causing me 🥊

I was involved in a car accident in ‘22. The fucker that caused the accident didn’t get prosecuted. It seems that most health professionals on the NHS that I’ve encountered have been more than unhelpful. And to top it all off, I was actually 8 sessions into therapy for driving with anxiety so now it’s no driving, no job, no life. I literally don’t know what else to do other than crochet and connect/get angry on the internet.

And then I fell on Friday, setting off a whole new level of pain in areas fooked from the 50mph smash.

I don’t know what more life can hit me with but keep the tea and cake coming.

🫖🍰❤️

Made me want to put the kettle on. Apropos of nothing my grandmother had a set of willow pattern. Lemon shortbread sounds interesting. I like your cures for the distress we must all feel. I’ll walk the next time I pop out to the shops.

Yes. I wrote it down as a response and then restacked it. So it should be in my notes feed - maybe six weeks ago. Have a look and see whether it makes sense?

If you can’t see it, let me know please.
