I'm sorry Cyril. This is not normal.

Cyril Ramaphosa deserved better. Just because we have come to expect a circus at the White House, does not mean we should accept it.

Welcome to Sick of this sh*t', a middle aged British wife and mother’s take on Felon Trump, his odious oligarch and sycophantic sidekicks. Gather round my kitchen table for support and solidarity. Virtual hot British support tea provided.

So what’s been happening the week?

Coco thinks Trump is full of sh*t too

It should have been such a wonderful day for me. May 21^st. The International Day of Tea (as if me and my cat Coco need an excuse to celebrate the wonders of tea). As I sat down to write, with my 100^th tea cup of the day, I was distracted by the voice of the Felon, scrapping my soul with every protracted syllable. The news is on 24/7 in our house – Mr Mack is addicted. ‘You should come and watch this’, Mr Mack announced.

I sighed. What the fuck could he be up to now? (Felon Trump, not Mr Mack). Embarrassing himself. That’s what. Making a holy show of himself, as my great aunt would say (it’s the Irish in her). Making a complete arse of himself (that’s the English in me). Forcing an uncomfortable yet dignified Cyril Ramaphosa (President of South Africa) to watch a video ‘proving’ the Felon’s case for genocide of white farmers in South African. Ex-cru-ci-at-ing.

While ignoring real genocides that provide daily horror and repulsion, the Felon has created his own white version to justify granting ‘refugee’ status to 59 white south Africans. All played out, in real time, in front of a real audience in the White House.

A circus that could out circus the best of ‘Cirque du Soliel’ ended with Mr Ramaphosa apologising (albeit it tongue in cheek) for not offering the Felon a bung/bribe. ‘I’m sorry I don’t have a plane to give you’, Cyril quipped. ‘I wish you did. I would take it’. The Felon replied. We know you fucking would. You are not supposed to declare your openness to bribes on international TV.

‘You should write about that’, Mr Mack interjected. He said an awful lot more too. Mr Mack is as anti-Trump as I am but he can outswear even me so I will leave the rest to your imagination. For a moment I sighed and fleetingly (very fleetingly but it was there) thought ‘what’s the point?’ ‘It’s just normal for Trump’.

‘Normal for ..’ is a British medical slang used to insult patients and/or describe a range of peculiar, odd characteristics. You can add any town, city or area. The term has been utilised in a place called Norfolk to depict patients of lesser intellect (NFN) but other areas such as Stoke (NFS) have used it too. Recently, I have found myself ‘normalising’ the Trump effect. NFT. Normal for Trump. Unremarkable for the kind of man he is. Is it worth remarking on it?

Well yes, it bloody well is. This is exactly how he is trying to wear us down and yes, for a fleeting moment I fell for it. Democrat Melanie Stansbury was right on 5^th March 2025 and continues to be right today. THIS IS NOT NORMAL. And just like any kind of abuse, the fact that it is repeated, the fact it is perpetrated in full view of the world, the fact that it is done by a seated old man with a smiling face does not mean that it is normal. Or acceptable. Or harmless.

We are in danger of being brainwashed by a man with no brain. We are being gaslighted into thinking that every time a world leader pitches up at the White House for intelligent, rational and productive debate, he or she should expect ambushes, humiliation, blindsiding and belittling.

We are being gaslighted into believing it is normal to proffer gold and golfers to appease the tantrummy toddler (Ramaphosa was accompanied by two of South Africa’s top golfers, Ernie Els and Retief Goosen). The Felon is not an emperor. At best he is an elected public official, at worse he is a Felon, a known sexual abuser, a riot inciter and a shit businessman. He is not moral, never mind normal.

So, I have written this post. You know me, I will keep writing until him and his administration are reconciled to the darkest annuls of history. I hope you have a normal day today, with a normal cup of tea, a normal cuddle of a cat (or the Mr or Mrs) in your life. I hope you keep remembering what is normal and keep calling out what’s not.
